Selaen jalan jalan melihat daerah turis disana, saya sempat mampir di gereja Katholik yang di downtown juga sorenya lewat night food market yang tersohor di jalan Donganmen.
Luar biasa orang-orang Beijing ini. Kalajengking, kelabang, jangkrik dan ular juga dimakan. Mungkin ini bisa membuat orang lebih berani mengambil resiko kalau lagi bisnis ... :-)
My wife and I had the opportunity to visit our friends Awi and Emmy Wilianto in Beijing this week. The family was very kind to invite us to stay with them during our visit and took us to know Beijing and touristic places including of course the Great Wall.
The last time we met was 14 years ago when we worked together in the ministry at GKKD Medan. So we were so happy to be able to meet again and fellowship a lot during this visit. I had the chance to sing (representing Raffa of course) and preached at Beijing GANG (God Anointed New Generation) Church, an energic church of Indonesian students while JM ministered at GISI Beijing. It was really great service.
Last Sunday, I was invited to preach at Pastor Rittar "Rio" Sibarani's church in Kebayoran Baru. My wife JM also shared and sang a song which was awesome. In the picture I stood with Pastor Rio and his wife, Renata Simanjuntak, the songwriter who wrote the well-known song "Slamatkan Indonesia".
Kemarin kami merayakan Ulang Tahun gereja kami GBI Cikini Raya yang ke-5. So much fun celebrating God's love dengan Praise & Worship service dilayani oleh Harry Idol, Bobby OW dan juga tentunya Julita Manik.
Untuk temen-temen yang dari ITB mungkin ingat Bhay dari Tambang '86. Kemarin Sabtu kami dateng ke kebaktian pertunangan atau orang sono bilang Martupol he he he.. di HKBP Sunter. Akhirnya si Bhay mengakhiri masa bujangan nya yang lama pisan. Bhay ini sepupu saya dari pihak ibu.
Minggu lalu Raffa Band dikunjungi oleh kru O-Channel TV dipimpin oleh bung Victor dan sepanjang sore meng-interview Raffa untuk acara yang meng-cover band band Kristen "Indie" alias mereka yang tidak dibawah label rekaman komersil.
Interviewnya asik juga. Memang sudah lama ngga di-shoot oleh kamera TV.... kalau ngga salah terakhir waktu SD main angklung di NHK Jepang :-)
Kita tunggu aja kapan ditayangnya di TV. Seperti kata Tukul, ... masuk TV... he he he
Heard about the book for a long time but did not have the urge to buy and read it yet until two days ago. Ini buku amazing.... ternyata. Tidak sia-sia buku pak Paulo sudah terjual 100 juta copy dan diterjemahkan dalam 60 bahasa !
Praise The Lord, for the new baby son of Nugie and Miriam, an Indonesian-Dutch missionary couple in Irian Jaya. Nugie sent me an sms saying the baby was delivered 01.23am this morning in a caesar delivery (wow quite an effort to wait for 0123 number ya...). The baby boy was 3.8kg, 51 cm long. Really a bule size ....
The name is Joshua Sebastiaan Akas.
We hope we can get the picture soon ya pak Nugie.

As a loving husband, I created Julita Manik's blog that you can access at http://julitamanik.blogspot.com/ and it's called Beautiful just like the title of her second album.
It's still in preliminary construction but soon it will have her tour schedule and updates from her ministry in a "heart to heart" manner to please everybody who loves her ministry.
Pastor Victor Faraknimella from Delft Christian Fellowship, Netherlands is in town and he ministered to us at GBI Menteng Raya's House of Prayer last night. He was there together with his church members of about 10 people. Pastor Victor preached about expectation for the next miracle. Do not be satisfied with what has happened and sit at the comfort zone when you have experienced God's power in your life. Move on and see more of God's amazing power in your life.
Julita Manik sang two songs from her Beautiful Album last Sunday Morning. Some could not resist the tears because the love of God was felt strongly during the performance that morning. To God all the glory.

Just received a call when I was with family for vacation in Bandung early this week. The printing company told me that the book was being delivered on Tuesday.
I was praying in the morning and a lot of ideas just flowed. Thinking of making e-book out of this book or an audio book. God is good. He is just pouring a lot of wisdom in things that I do. Thank you Jesus.

met Tini who just arrived from KL. She has recently moved for a new post in KL for 6 months or so. Hopefully she can adjust well with the new environment in M'sia and be a blessing in the church there. Aku titip beberapa CD Raffa untuk di bawa dan diberi atau dijual ;-) juga boleh ke gereja disana. Kalau permintaan banyak, boleh boleh juga kita atur concert di KL bersama Julita Manik sekalian deh.....
met my old friend jacob yesterday and he asked all about the album. aku bilang berapa tahun terakhir belajar maen gitar, acoustic, electric any kind lah. try to learn to play the licks with guidance from video, books tetap aja ngga jago-jago. Tapi Tuhan itu baik. Ternyata He led me to know about chords and music progression and that's enough for me ... for now at least p-)....
To make a short story longer ,... akhirnya aku jadi bisa bikin lagu-lagu p&w. Sekarang mungkin ada hampir 50 lagu dan 11 diantaranya direkam di album Raffa tersebut. Untuk bonus I recorded "Bapa Yang Kekal" written by my girlfriend and my soulmate Julita Manik ... p-).......

i just launched two weeks ago, my first ever album with the band title "raffa" meaning God who heals .... It contains 12 beautiful songs with pop-guitar electric-praise & worship feel in it. you will enjoy the songs. my girlfirend Julita Manik appears in one o fthe song and throughout the album for backing vocal... she's been so sweet helping me out with this project....
